The Statue of St. Antony of Padua in our Church, is known for it's Unique Portrayal of The Patron of the Church carrying the Child Jesus, with His Cassock raised.


A Glimpse into the Church's History
Our Legacy
St. Antony's Church in Pudupet, Chennai, was established as a parish in 1873, with the Capuchin Fathers ministering to the local community from 1642 to 1832. The foundation stone of the current church was laid on January 5, 1921, by Most Rev. Peter Pisani, Delegate Apostolic of East Indies, and it was consecrated on September 14, 1927, in honor of St. Anthony of Padua. The church has since been a center for worship and social service.
